Bis(maltolato)oxovanadium(IV), also known BMOV is a мощный insulin mimetic. Bis(maltolato)oxovanadium(IV) normalizes glucose and липид values and restores food and fluid intake to control levels in diabetic rats without increasing insulin levels (0.37 mmol/kg). It attenuates hyperinsulinemia and hypertension in spontaneously hypertensive rats. Its mechanism of action includes inhibition of PTP1B as well as other tyrosine phosphatases. The препарат is nontoxic in vitro at useful concentrations and displays no signs of toxicity in mice at high oral doses.
